So some of you if you got to the page on essential oils on the blog know that a few years ago my wife introduced me to the wide world of benefits of essential oils. She is a rep for doTERRA and so these are the essentials I am most familiar with and I have decided to start a bi-monthly review of each of the products I have tried and give the good, bad and indifferent because I will be honest there have been some of the products that I had issues with. I may begin by posting a couple this week to get off the ground, but after this week expect one post every other Monday going forward. I hope you’ll consider trying some of these out and cut down your dependence on pharmaceuticals which I have noticed having diminished effects on me over time. These products I review are all natural essential oils and if I have the ingredient list I will share it, so here we go.
Adaptiv is a more recent member of the doTERRA product line, we were introduced to it through a friend of ours who is also a representative and attended a yearly conference where it was unveiled. Adaptiv is intended to fight stress and tension while boosting mood and increasing a feeling of tranquility. I suffer from extreme anxiety and depression among other woes, but these two have the most impact on my daily quality of life and have made it difficult to be comfortable in public. Until this product came out I had been using a combination of products that my wife mixed which was somewhat succesful, but this blend has been a revelation. I won’t go so far as to say it has cured me or that I’m out and mixing with people every day (beyond the fact that we can’t go do that much now ANYWAY, thanks Coronavirus!) but I have noticed a significant difference in instances where I use it before going out in public and when I do not.

Adaptiv is made up of Wild Orange, Lavender, Copaiba (a truly underestimated resource), Spearmint, Magnolia, Rosemary, Neroli and Sweetgum. This information is all available on the company website https://www.doterra.com, search Adaptiv from the top search bar. It smells rather fruity and floraly (is that a word? I’m making it one) which might have some guys casting a wary eye at it, but I have noticed if used topically the range of the scent is very small. I personally like to put it on the underside of each wrist, so that when I need a little bit of that soothing/calming feeling I can utilize it without making an obvious show of doing so. Amazing how many phone calls I take in the grocery store. I find though, that just by smelling it I get a hit almost akin to what smokers describe from nicotine of intense calm and feeling like everything is going to be okay; just without the…you know…addictive properties or carcinogens.
Now, topical use is not the only way to use this product, when mixed with epsom salts and then put in a bath tub it can provide a bath bomb type instrument and the scent will permeate the area. It can be mixed with Coconut oil for a lotion, diffused in a room with a diffuser much like the one that sits on my desk every day, which maybe I will do a separate post on another day. If you are looking for a diffuser though, while doTERRA and every other brand of essential oil out there have their own, you can also find generic versions through many major retailers. It simply uses water with drops of the oil and viola!

If I had to rate the effectiveness of this product against the medications I normally take, mental exercises, and most everything else I have tried I would rate this product as Superior. Not only is the efficacy very strong for me, but the time from use to onset of relief is instantaneous. Also, with some of the products for other uses having much stronger scents that can cause discomfort to sensitive noses, Adaptiv has a understated pleasant scent that is unlikely to cause any discomfort to most.
I will provide a brief warning and then a disclosure statement. I personally recommend as does the company to keep all products away from contacting the eyes, inner ear or other sensitive areas, keep out of the reach of children, or if you are pregnant or suffer from any respiratory issues until checking with your doctor. Second, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, I am not making any claims that this product will diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, nor do I make any statement or certification of its status with the FDA. I am not an employee or salesperson for doTERRA, nor am I receiving any compensation for this review. These statements are completely my opinion and should not be taken as making or implying any promise that your experience will match mine.
Okay with that out of the way, I honestly love and believe in this product and that it has been incredibly effective for me. If you have an interest in this product or any doTERRA product in general I am happy to discuss it further either in the comments section or via email. I can be reached at daddicusrex@sodadithurts.com. If I do not immediately return your email I apologize, there is a lot going on in my world and I am trying to give equal attention to all, but I will get back to you within 24-48 hours barring an emergency. Other than that I hope you all have a wonderful day and go enjoy our natural world!
